I'm happy to report that I seem to be improving slightly. Yesterday afternoon, I drove to the post office to pick up my mail (3 miles) without as much pain as even earlier in the day. Today I'm going to try grocery shopping (16 miles, round trip)--what a thrill! (I mean that literally!)
For any of you who haven't had a Shingles vaccine, I strongly recommend that you get one ASAP. You don't want this, and I don't want it again. As soon as I'm over it, I plan to get vaccinated before it has a chance to return.
Thanks for all your comments and prayers--I cherish them all.

Several months ago, I spoke to my doc about getting vaccinated for Shingles (cuz I'm old and when you get old, you talk about shots and pills and all sorts of things to stave off future issues! :) ...and he kinda didn't exactly say "do it". He himself, hasn't had it...he's very near my old age, too! As I recall, his belief was, that if you are healthy and have a good immune system, you don't need it. He also said "it was up to" me! HOWEVER,since reading your blog..and recalling how awful two of my acquaintances felt when they suffered with Shingles....I think I'm leaning towards getting vaccinated. One of those friends has r. arthritis....so his immune system is very affected.
Anyway, I am so glad you are feeling well enough to be out and about a bit...more and more. I hope your improvement is greater each and ever day!!
